Al by the "Acropolis" on the Greek
estate in Utah
After the War ended Al, Myrle and the girls
moved to Salt Lake
City where Al's sister
Phronie and her husband
George Spear had
arranged a job in
construction for Al. For
a while the family
lived in a house on a
Greek estate near
the top of Mount Olympus
outside of Salt Lake.
The house had pillars
all around the top
story, copied after the
Acropolis in Athens.
When the school year ended the family moved
back to South Dakota. Al and Myrle decided
to divorce, and Al moved to Rapid City while
Myrle and the girls returned to Lead.

Al decided to further his education and earned
his GED
Al started his own company, Al's Floor Service,
sanding and finishing floors.
And started another company, Albert Breck
Cement Contractor
This led to construction work at Ellsworth
Air Force Base during their rapid expansion
Ambitious to improve his personal life and
public speaking skills, Al joined Toastmasters
and was an active participant
in their activities
As time went on Al decided he wanted to work
where he would wear a white shirt and be
known as Mr. Breck. Following his lifelong
interest in photography, he enrolled in the
Television Photography course at Northwest
Schools in Chicago and earned his diploma.
With his new training, he went to work as
a TV cameraman at the KOTA TV station in
Rapid City.
