FAREWELL TO AL
OCTOBER 31, 1908 - MARCH 3,1990

Albert passed away peacefully with Ruby at his side. His funeral was March 7, 1990.

The funeral service was held at the Evangelical Free Bible Church in Wall. Burial was in the Rose Family Cemetery, a family burial ground out on the prairie near the Davis Homestead in the Pedro area. The road to the cemetery was covered in deep snow drifts, which had to be plowed for the funeral procession.

As the procession crossed the prairie, a wondrous sight appeared. An American bald eagle kept watch
from atop a high fence post. A salute to Al from the living symbol of America,
and a "Welcome Home" to the South Dakota prairie so beloved by Al.
